Movement 4 Memory classes are designed to improve balance and memory through dance basics and music. The class starts with some traditional barre work (using the chair backs), then progresses to travelling steps and dance sequences in the centre of the room.
Focus is on developing muscle memory, sequencing and having fun moving with the music. We will experiment with Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary dance styles
No previous dance experience is required, but a willingness to have a try and smile is essential.
Why has this program been created?
Research shows that 75% of the factors affecting quality of life and longevity are related to lifestyle, while only 25% are hereditary. This means that there’s no excuse for not getting more active whatever your age. And dance in particular, can play a vital role in ensuring a longer and better quality of life. Research also often puts dance ahead of other physical activities in the variety of health benefits that it brings.
